On Behalf of | Feb 23, 2022 | Uncategorized

Social Security disability benefits payments can make a significant difference to the quality of life of a disabled person and the person’s dependants. In fact, in 2022, beneficiaries can expect an increase of 5.09 percent in their benefits as a result of cost -of -living adjustment increases.

But, when can you expect payments to be credited to your account?

Social Security payments are not made randomly. There is a specific schedule that the agency will adhere to at the time of disbursement of your benefits.

In 2022, that schedule is as follows:

  • If your birth date falls between the 1st and 10th of the month, you should get your payout on the second Wednesday of the month.
  • If your birth date falls between the 11th and 20th of the month, you should get your benefits payment on the third Wednesday of the month.
  • If your birth date falls between the 21st and 30th of the month, you should get your disability benefits on the fourth Wednesday of the month.

Payments in February will be deposited on the 9th, 16th and 23rd depending on your birth date.  This is how you calculate the date of your payout.  Supplemental Security Income payments come on the 1st of every month.

Close to 70 million Americans are dependant on benefits paid by the Social Security Administration. This can include not just benefits paid under the Social Security Disability Insurance program, but also Supplemental Security Income program as well as retirement benefits.

Knowing when payments will be received can be important because Social Security disability benefits are the only source of income for many beneficiaries.  They help pay for rent, food and other basic needs for many who are struggling with a serious medical condition that makes it impossible for them to work and earn a living.
